Evolutionist scientists the other day introduced the public to a new supposed intermediate fossil: Archicebus achilles
This fossil, about the size of a squirrel and dating back 55 million years, is a member of the tarsier family living today. Evolutionist scientists who examined the fossil for 10 years recently described this organism, on the basis of a minor variation in the heel and feet bones, as a supposed intermediate form between humans and primates. The fact is, however, that this fossil bears the same characteristics as tarsier primates living in Southeast Asia today. The fossil skull, teeth, jointed bones and skeletal structure are identical to those of present-day tarsiers.
The only difference in this 55-million-year-old fossil is in the heel and foot bones. The heel and foot bones are identical to those of present-day marmosets, or tarsiers.
When we examine the fossil, we encounter a perfect living thing, from its skull to its feet. During their examinations lasting 10 years, scientists used advanced imaging techniques to investigate the skeletal structure buried inside the fossil in great detail. This examination revealed that every part of this animal functioned perfectly. No non-functioning or semi-functioning part was encountered. Every part of this excellently preserved fossil, from its head to its feet, was flawless. However, evolutionist scientists have resorted to the usual techniques and used the fact that this fossil possessed features from two different life forms to portray it as supposed evidence for evolution. However, this is totally misleading because mosaic creatures, such as the Platypus that has both reptilian and mammalian characteristics, are living today. These are not intermediate forms, however, but unique species.
The Platypus is a mosaic animal with both reptilian and mammalian characteristics.
Archicebus achilles is not a mosaic life form, however, because this fossil possesses entirely mammalian features. In other words, it is not a supposed intermediate form as evolutionists are claiming.
Millions of species of living things have existed and subsequently become extinct. Scientists estimate that 99.8% of the species that once existed have since gone extinct. The way that scientists describe fossils they discover as supposed intermediate forms, rather than classifying them as extinct, when the level of extinct species approaches 100%, is completely fraudulent.
Archicebus achilles is a species with a perfectly functioning body, that lived once in the past but has since gone extinct. All living things of which fossil remains exist but which are not living today are extinct species. For example, the moa, a bird unique to New Zealand, went extinct sometime in the 1400s. However, if evolutionists had found these fossils now they would doubtless, as they do with fossils of all extinct life forms, have referred to the moa as a supposed intermediate form between dinosaurs and birds because the moa was a wingless, flightless bird.
Reconstruction of a moa
Evolutionists perpetrated the same ruse with the Coelacanth fossil. When they first found Coelacanth fossils they claimed, on the basis of the bony structure in its fins, that it was an intermediate life form between fish and reptiles. However, the discovery of a living Coelacanth, previously thought to be extinct, in South Africa instantly refuted this evolutionist trickery. The Coelacanth was not an intermediate form, but a bottom-dwelling fish perfect in all respects.
As with all their other claims about intermediate forms, evolutionists also need to apologize over the fossil Archicebus achilles, which they claim to be a supposed intermediate form between humans and primates. Once again, evolutionist scientists have evaluated scientific findings in a biased manner and are still trying to impose the idea of evolution.
CNN International, The Telegraph and the Los Angeles Times once again demonstrated their biased and pro-evolution publishing policy with reports adorned with illustration pictures.
CNN International: Ancient primate could be a missing link.
Great Britain’s The Telegraph: Archicebus achilles could be humanity’s earliest primate cousin.
Los Angeles Times: Virtual fossil shows our oldest primate cousin, scientists say.

inThe flash of a camera in the dark, the way your car starts when you turn the key in the ignition, the way your computer performs the processes you want at high speed: A large number of components have to work together in harmony for the processes summarized in just a few words here to take place. Just like the technological devices cited here, all the events that take place in the world come about as the result of a perfect harmony in the universe. One of the most striking examples of this perfect organization takes place in our own bodies. This organization allows a person to perform many actions, such as laughing, speaking, opening and closing their eyes, walking, recognizing people and understanding, at one and the same time, and also performs vitally important tasks for us. In addition, all these processes take place very fast, in just a thousandth of a second. Almighty God has created all these systems in our body in harmony with one another, directed toward all our needs and in a flawless manner. This sublime intelligence and awareness manifests itself in every cell in our bodies as we walk, breathe, look around or greet someone we know in our daily activities, activities that seem so very ordinary to us, and our organs and tissues work together in an extraordinary coordination and equilibrium.
The Processes That Are Involved in the Body As We Walk
Walking is a process we all learn at an early age and regard as “very easy.” Yet in order for us to take even a single step, various different systems in our bodies go into action and work together with astounding rapidity in order for us to take that step. In addition, these systems work in such an organized way that after we have taken one step there is no need for us to wait to take the next one. The way that all these processes we have to write down one after the other take place “simultaneously” in the body is of course a great miracle.
-The way that our bones, which weigh around 16 kg, can bear a body weighing 3-4 times more than them without breaking,
-The way that the reactive force that forms toward our bodies because of their weight every time we take a step is reduced by means of the “force distributing” effect of the 33 small bones that make up the spine and its curved S shape,
-The way some 100 of the muscles so carefully attached to the bones work as we walk,
-The curved sole of the foot and its special shape resembling a cushion that eliminates the adverse effect of the weight of the body,
-And the way we maintain our balance owing to the coordination between the cerebellum, inner ear and microhairs in the inner ear, are just a few of the processes that allow us to walk.
Moreover, at the same time as such complex systems are going into action to allow us to walk, we can also speak, breathe, close our eyes, turns our heads right and left and recognize objects by their names. The way these processes, summarized here in just a few sentences, take place at the same time once again reveals the perfect creation in the human body.
We Make No Special Effort to Speak
In order for the words we wish to say to leave our mouths we do not have sit and calculate the aperture of our vocal cords and how much they need to vibrate, which of the hundreds of muscles in our mouths, tongues and throats need to contract or expand, by how much and in what order, how many cubic centimeters of air to take into our lungs, and how fast and at what intervals we need to expel that air again. And even if we wanted to, we could not do it! This is because the emergence from our mouths of one single word is the result of many structures, from the respiratory system to the nervous system and from our muscles to our bones all working in harmony.
When We Meet and Get Acquainted
Whenever we meet anyone we know, a glorious organization take place in our bodies in response to this new situation. We can list these processes that go into operation simultaneously as follows:
The recognition process begins with sight. The light reflected from the body of the other person reaches our pupils at a rate of 10 trillion photons (light particles) per second. The light first passes through the lens and then through the fluid filling the eye sockets, and then falls onto the retina. There are hundreds of millions of cells on the surface of the retina; “cone cells” able to perceive color and “rod cells” able to distinguish between dark and light. The retina cells perceive the photons by means of complicated chemical processes and produce electrical signals. The electrical stimulus from the retina is thus transmitted from one neuron to another to the visual cortex of the brain. In this way, the image of the person you know forms in a perfect manner in the center of the cerebral cortex.
In order to establish that this person is someone you know, the memory cells are checked and data in the memory concerning the person’s face are compared. Even the face in the image in the cerebral cortex and the facial data in your memory are compared, and any change in that person (such as a new hairstyle or perhaps a sickly appearance) is immediately identified.
The thousands of complex processes that take place so far do so at an amazing speed, and we immediately recognize the person in front of us, smile, say hello and begin speaking to them. And this time, 17 muscles have to work together, accurately and at the same time, in order to produce a small smile. If just one of the 17 does not work or misperforms, then the smile will not happen and the expression on your face will be meaningless.
We do not make any special effort to speak and to greet people. In order for the words we wish to say to leave our mouths, we do not have sit and calculate the aperture of our vocal cords and how much they need to vibrate, which of the hundreds of muscles in our mouths, tongues and throats to contract or expand, by how much and in what order, how many cubic centimeters of air to take into our lungs, and how fast and at what intervals we need to expel that air again. And even if we wanted to, we could not do it! This is because the emergence from our mouths of even one single word is the result of many structures, from the respiratory system to the nervous system and from our muscles to our bones all working in harmony.
Almighty God has created human beings in a perfect manner. The human body is just one of the proofs of Almighty God’s infinite power and knowledge. Anyone capable of using his intelligence and conscience will clearly see this. The creative artistry of our Lord is revealed as follows in verses:
“O man! What has deluded you in respect of your Noble Lord?
He Who created you and formed you and proportioned you
and assembled you in whatever way He willed.” (Surat al-Infitar, 6-8)
The Amazing Coordination between the Nerve Cells and the Brain
There are 10 million (10,000,000) brain cells in every cubic centimeter of the brain, and a total of between 10 to 15 billion cells. At the same time, the nerve cells have up to 10 times as many connections between them, in the region of 15 trillion (15,000,000,000,000). The number of cells (brain connective tissue) in connection with the nerve cells and feeding and supporting them is around 90 billion (90,000,000,000).
Messages carried to the brain via the nerves travel at 200 miles (320 km) per hour. In other words, the nerves that reach the body from the nerve cells literally act like a highway for information traveling between the brain and the body. All events taking place in our bodies moment by moment, such as;
The way you are using your eyes to read these words;
The way you lean back as you sit down;
The way you understand what you read;
The way your heart beats;
The way you breathe;
The way you close your eyes;
The way your hair grows;
The way you perceive smells;
The way you hear what is going on around you;
In short, processes of all kind that we could go on listing forever, continue by way of signals reaching the brain and commands issued by the brain to every part of the body. (Between 100,000 and 1,000,000 chemical reactions are known to be capable of taking place in the brain in just one minute.)
The Billions of Pieces of Data Processed Every Second Are All under the Control of God
The first condition for the flawless harmony in the body is the provision of accurate information. New analyses can only be performed with new information being obtained: That is why there is a wonderful communications network in the body.
In order for coordinated activity to take place, the positions of the relevant organs in the body and the relationships between them all need to be known. That information comes from the eyes, the balance mechanism in the inner ear, the muscles, the joints, the skin and the bones; billions of pieces of information are processed and analyzed every second, and decisions are taken accordingly. Even while you sleep your vital organs continue to function owing to instructions coming in from part of the nervous system, the lower brain and the spinal column. Your heart beats, your lungs work and you breathe.
The speed of data processing in your body cannot be matched by any computer. No matter what you do, extraordinary calculations take place in your body, from the simplest actions to the most difficult.
Everything described here clearly takes place as the result of a creation requiring an infinite power. That infinite might belongs to God, the Almighty Creator of the entire universe. This is revealed as follows in the Qur’an:
“…No, everything in the heavens and Earth belongs to Him. Everything is obedient to Him.” (Surat al-Baqara, 116)
As You Read These Words
The systems in your body continue functioning perfectly every second. Due to that organization, you can hear the sounds around you and see and understand what you read at one and the same time. Meanwhile, your heart continues to beat, your nose detects smells and your lungs continue to breathe. You constantly blink and swallow. Maybe you sip a cup of tea beside you, and then your digestive system goes to work. Additionally, if you do not eat or drink anything, you will soon feel hungry. The interesting thing is that while all these things are taking place you still continue to read and understand what you are reading. While you are concentrating on reading and understanding, the organization in your body continues to keep you alive outside your own volition. What is more, these processes continue to take place without your asking for them. Of course, this flawless co-ordination is not something that a person can carry out for himself; nobody ever thinks, “I must close my eyes to stop them from drying out” or “I must regulate my breathing” when he is out jogging. Actions that seem very simple to you – and that you may never even have thought about – actually show the presence of a highly detailed organization in your body and reveal the flawless nature of the creative artistry of Almighty God. Almighty God reveals in verses of the Qur’an how His creations are all magnificently coordinated with one another:
“He Who created the seven heavens in layers. You will not find any flaw in the creation of the All-Merciful. Look again – do you see any gaps?
Then look again and again. Your sight will return to you dazzled and exhausted!” (Surat al-Mulk, 3-4)
There is an amazingly complex and enormous co-ordination network inside us. Its aim is to ensure we stay alive. This co-ordination can particularly be seen in the body’s locomotion system because the skeletal system, the muscles and the nervous system have to work together in perfect collaboration for even the smallest movement to be possible. This is only possible with the flawless creation of Omniscient and All-Powerful God. Our Almighty Lord, Who has flawlessly created the heavens, the Earth and all that lies between, has also created the human body with the most miraculous details and extraordinary co-ordination.

inThe word Islam conjures up a disturbing picture in the minds of some people outside the Muslim world. It is a fact that many in the West imagine Islam to be a faith far removed from modern life, closed to science and that attaches no value to a good quality of life. The first reason for this erroneous belief is that various people who claim to be Muslims in fact have views and lifestyles that fly in the face of it. However, someone looking in from the outside cannot recognize that and will be unable to evaluate matters accurately. Another important reason is associated with the first: Most people are unacquainted with the truths of Islam and the correct interpretation of the Quran. In point of fact, these people who make incorrect evaluations are not only from outside the Islamic world; many people within the Islamic world as well are unable to properly understand the Quran. The reason for the appearance of mistaken and radical views is that the Quran is not correctly understood.
The only point of reference to truly learn about Islam is the Quran but we see that some people do not interpret the Quran correctly and produce their own perverse and foolish deductions from it in order to support their own misguided and superstitious beliefs. One of the subjects most easily capable of being misinterpreted in this way is science and scientific activity.
Science is an important reality that enables us to know the universe we inhabit, the Earth and our own bodies and to be able to appreciate all the beauties around us. Scientific advances have enlightened human life and opened the door to a healthier way of living. For example, by means of medical advances the average human life span today is much greater than it was a century ago. Even in the 1950s, average worldwide life expectancy was 47, whereas according to U.N. figures it had risen to 68 by 2010. Similarly, advances in other branches of science have made our lives easier and more comfortable.
Today, for instance, the benefits of the Internet are obvious. By means of the Internet we can learn at once what is happening in different parts of the world. Communications among people have grown and become far easier. New concepts such as e-commerce have bestowed a new dimension to our understanding of economics. Information about a subject one wants to investigate can now be accessed immediately. The Internet is just one of the benefits that science has bestowed on mankind over the last century and those nations making greater uses of the benefits of science now live at a much more advanced level. Had science not progressed as much as it has, we would very likely still be living dark and backward lives devoid of many facilities.
For a sincere Muslim, science is a blessing that God has bestowed on mankind. Islam advocates a rational approach. In many verses of the Quran, God advises people to use their intelligence. He emphasizes the need for us to think rationally and scientifically, speaking of, “…those deeply rooted in knowledge…” and “…only people of intelligence pay heed.” (3:7). Another verse advises people to think about the formation of the universe: “…reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth …” (3:191)
Use is still being made today of the work of various Muslim scientists in the past who understood that Islam encourages scientific investigation. People such as Avicenna, Farabi and Battani were among the leading scientists of the Middle Ages. Avicenna’s book “The Canon of Medicine” (al-Qānūn fī al-Tibb) was used as a text book in the universities of Montpellier and Louvain until 1650. Battani’s “Zij” was regarded as a most important astronomical text, and his work inspired that of Copernicus. A crater on the moon was even named after him as a mark of respect: “Albategnius.” Al-Khwarizmi’s work “Compendious Book on Calculation by Completion and Balancing” is regarded as the first work in which the first systematic solution of linear and quadratic equations are presented. The very term “algebra” comes from “al-jabr,” one of the methods for solving quadratic equations in al-Khwarizmi’s book. Many other examples of contributions to scientific progress by Muslim scientists could be given.
Today, too, there are a great many scientists, academics and intellectuals who have emerged from the Islamic world and serve all mankind. The spread of scientific thinking and concentration on rationality will further increase the numbers of such people and the contributions they make. That is why it needs to be better understood that the Quran encourages rational thinking and scientific research and activity. In this way, more enlightened people will appear from within the Islamic world and bearing in mind that societies are today in ever greater interaction with one another, such progress will clearly be of great benefit to both the Islamic world and to the world as a whole.

inThe Islamic world is wide-spread not only in its geography, but in its various traditions. However, when we look at the world of Islam today, a general coarsening has taken place. At one time, Muslims were regarded as people of good character; in the Middle Ages, Saladin was regarded by the Crusaders, including Richard the Lionhearted, as a wise and noble figure worthy of respect. Islam led the world in the sciences, the arts and literature. Now when we gaze upon the Islamic world, we see a degraded culture where shabby-looking men are held up as saints, where beautiful women are commanded by bigots to conceal their beauty, and where unkempt women are held up as paragons of virtue by the very nature of their appearance, as though having bad skin and uncombed hair somehow makes you pious.
It goes without saying that many, especially in the West, look at bedraggled men with long and disheveled beards, wearing rags and semi-literate, as examples of Islam. This occurs because the media has made them so, and these particular men love nothing more than to claim to speak for the whole of the Islamic world. But it is not only in the West that this has happened; in the Islamic world, far too many Muslims see these same men and think to themselves, “Why, look! He wears filthy rags, and has a long and ungroomed beard. Surely this is a holy man!” Or they see a woman in stylish clothes, wearing makeup or having her hair uncovered, and the immediate reaction of far too many is, “Why, this woman is a prostitute, a Jezebel!” This kind of foolish thinking is unfortunately commonplace in the Islamic world.
So how has it come to this? How is it that music, art and beauty is condemned, when music, art and beauty are gifts from God? Why are these gifts, which uplift and elevate the mind and soul, looked upon as curses from the devil himself?
Perhaps it is because we have allowed petty and small-minded provincials with peculiar ideas to rule the discussion for too long. We have allowed these people to enjoy a cultural dictatorship, a “tyranny of moral busybodies,” as the Christian writer C.S. Lewis so eloquently said. We have allowed them to become cultural arbiters. And the results? A world without joy or beauty. A world where those men and women who wish to share the talents given to them by God are told their gifts are sins. What madness is this? Truly, a world in which there is no appreciation of beauty and aesthetics is little more than a manifestation of Hell itself.
There is nothing from the Quran that prohibits music or the arts. It is mistaken to say, “The Quran prohibits music!” This is bid’ah, or heresy, and those who introduce such things are committing a sin. As it says in the Quran, “Say, ‘Do you see that which God hath provided for you — you make some of it unlawful (haram) and some of it lawful?'” “Say, ‘Did God allow you to do this, or do you tell lies about God?'” (10: 59).
Our Prophet was a man of fine appearance and attribute, and he had an aesthetic appreciation for beauty. He used to grow roses around his house, and in a desert environment growing almost anything is a difficult task. At that time there existed a fragrant oil and our Prophet used to use olive oil as well as that oil mixed with a beautiful smelling rose extract; he used to wear this in his hair as a brilliantine, and it made him appear more youthful. It is said his clothes, his frock and shirt were white and always kept clean and in good repair. His teeth (owing to the use of a miswak, a natural toothbrush) were white and clean. All of these descriptions of his appearance come from the hadiths. All these descriptions are notably different from what we so often see, and all are notably different from what we see in Muslim extremists as well.
So to my fellow Muslims, please do not allow yourselves to fall into the trap of thinking that by looking shabby and scowling, that this makes you a more devout Muslim. Do not fall prey to the notion that forbidding music or art or beauty is somehow the commandment of God. Do not think for one moment that by treating your wife as an object of scorn or contempt, or as your occasional beast of burden when you go to the shops, that you are living the truth of Islam. You are not. You are behaving in an ugly and boorish manner, and this behavior is fodder for those who seek to portray Muslims as savages. And above all, do not fall into that trap of utopian nonsense which says that if the Muslims were simply to go back to the life of the seventh century A.D., then all would be well in the world, and we would all live in perfect contentment forevermore. This rejection of the modern world is not only profoundly silly and highly reactionary, it is dangerous.
And for the Western reader, I ask you not to fall into the trap of thinking that unkempt, unclean and loutish individuals who spout distorted religious speculations mixed with their own superstitions and cultural peculiarities as being wholly representative of Islam. They are not; overall, they are a minority. They get the attention they do simply because they manage to talk over everyone else. And do not fall into the trap of the anti-Muslim bigots; while they like to claim they are only opposed to “extremists” and “radicals,” they portray this vocal and extremist minority as representative of the entirety of Islam, when in fact the opposite is true. Extremists speak only for themselves; they are a majority only in their fevered delusions.
